Our student, national athlete Haydar Yavuz, came third in Europe
Our university student, national athlete Haydar Yavuz managed to win the bronze medal in the freestyle 70 kg at the European Wrestling Championship.
At the European Wrestling Championship held in Rome, the capital of Italy, our university student and national athlete Haydar Yavuz won a bronze medal. Representing our country in freestyle 70 kg, the successful athlete defeated Macedonian Fati Vejseli 9-1 in the repechage match and won the bronze medal match.
National athlete Haydar Yavuz, who managed to beat his Georgian rival Mirza Skhulukhia 7-1 in the match for the third place, thus became the third in Europe.
Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun congratulated the successful athlete Yavuz and said, “Our students continue to make us proud with the degrees they received in national and international competitions. Successful athletes, who have had an intense camp period alongside their university education, reap the fruits of their efforts.
