Our university is at the top of sports
Our university ranked first in Turkey with 57 medals in the general medal ranking among universities made by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
Students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences of our university brought 57 medals to Bartın in the championships held by the University Sports Federation in the 2018-2019 period. Our university's athletes won 18 gold, 18 silver and 21 bronze medals and shared the first place in Turkey with two universities in the evaluation made among 141 universities. In the general distribution, our university managed to rank 5th.
Continuous improvement continues in the field of sports
In the light of the rankings made by the Turkish University Sports Federation, it has been seen that our University, which has determined its future goals with the understanding of continuous improvement, continues its development in the field of sports.
According to the Federation data, our University ranked 6th among 126 universities with 43 medals collected in the 2017-2018 period, and ranked first among 141 universities in the 2018-2019 period. In the overall medal ranking, our University rose 13 steps compared to the previous year and ranked 5th.

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun stated that they will continue to train the athletes of the future with the Faculty of Sports Sciences and said, “As Bartın University, we aim to have a say in the field of sports, in addition to our scientific efforts to contribute to the development of our region and our country. With the School of Physical Education and Sports, we have achieved countless successes both in Turkey and abroad, individually or as a team. Our world and European champions made us proud as a member of the Bartın University family. We have hosted symposiums, panels, competitions and national competitions not only in sports but also in academic terms. I fully believe that we will continue to increase our success with the Faculty of Sports Sciences.” said.

Rector Uzun stated that as a university, he has trained athletes who have achieved significant success not only in the national arena, but also in the international arena, and said that our University's Faculty of Sports Sciences is a higher education institution that is also preferred by national athletes.
Rector Uzun also emphasized that there are 127 national athletes who continue their education at our University and said, “In our Faculty of Sports Sciences, we continue to train the athletes of the future with our competent academic staff. In our Sports Sciences Faculty building, where halls for many sports branches are built in accordance with international standards, our students are prepared for competitions by having every opportunity related to their sports development. I believe that Bartın University Faculty of Sports Sciences, which is the choice of national athletes with its education quality and qualified learning areas, will continue to add value to Turkish Sports in the coming periods. In this direction, for the close attention they show to our students, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Bülent Cengiz, Assistant Dean Dr. Instructor Member Murat Sarıkabak and Dr. Instructor I would like to thank its member Ender Eyuboğlu and all our academic and administrative human resources.” he said.
